Official music video

Long Sleeves - Petrolhead

The Challenge.

Long Sleeves Official is an alternative, independent band from the southwest of the Netherlands. Their music moves between garage rock and punk, with a raw edge and a distinct signature sound. For the release of Petrolhead they wanted a music video that wasn’t illustrative, but narrative — a film that feels like the music itself: raw, disorienting, and compelling.

I was given the freedom to develop a concept that does justice to their energy and character.

The Approach.

I wrote and directed a video set in an abandoned scrapyard. Among rust and wreckage, two people wake up. Separated. Confused. The snorricam (a camera rigged to the actor’s body) highlights their disorientation and inner turmoil.

The black and white imagery evokes a different sense of time. Then we shift back to color as they wander, search, and move, looking for a new future. In the background, the band slowly begins to appear. Not as the main character, but as an undercurrent. The music evolves with the story.

The Result.

The video was well received within the scene and strengthened Long Sleeves Official’s image as an artistic and unconventional band. It adds a narrative layer to their music and is now considered one of their strongest visual works to date. The style aligned perfectly with their identity: independent, unpolished, and full of character.
